Buttons & Bows

Grandmother's house was almost magical. In addition to the warm hugs, homemade cookies, flower garden, toy box and story telling, there was a quart jar full of buttons for the grandchildren. When our family would visit, Grandmother let each of use a needle and thread to string buttons of every hue and texture into stylish, custom pieces. It was like being jeweler to the queen.

My childhood has long since passed, but memories of those days spark ideas for sharing playtime with my own grandchildren. It is my sincere hope that you will take the words you find here, strung together like so many buttons, and enjoy them with youthful abandon.

Welcome to my Button Jar!
